Tamara & Mike | Klode Park Engagement

Tamara & Mike have one of my favorite how we met stories. Tamara was in med school and trying to study at Alterra but a decidedly less erudite option kept pulling her away from gross anatomy: People Magazine. Mike was at a table nearby browsing the Wall Street Journal and he called her out on her light (and not so light) reading options. Maybe it was his confidence or maybe it was his witty smile, either way they hit it off and never looked back. Today, both are successful in their careers and, thanks to one another, successful in life and love, too. Both a little shy, but easy to smile, Tamara & Mike were fearless in the forest and on the rocks at Klode Park. Not only was it fun to photograph these two, but I also loved shooting Tamara’s statuesque body line in her column dress on the rocks of Lake Michigan. Some of those images remind me of 40s fashion imagery  – just Google Conde Nast Archive images from the 40s and you’ll see what I mean.
