Ellen & Ruben met in college a long way from his native Texas, but just close enough to her family’s lake house near Milwaukee. They spend weekends and short breaks out by the lake with Ruben often clearing off the ice so the family can skate. Lisa met them out on a crisp, clear February day to witness such skating pleasures and to take in the sights and smells of one of Ruben’s favorite dishes to cook with Ellen as his sous chef. It was pretty much their perfect day spent together with equal parts recreation and relaxation, which is pretty much how they want their wedding day to be, as well. When they met with us they agreed that their goal for the wedding day is not to sit down the whole time. They want to trade ice skating for dancing and they plan on having a hand in creating a delicious, possibly Mexican-inspired dinner for their guests at Bluemound Country Club next fall. But on this day, so lovingly captured by Lisa below, an at home meal and a turn about the lake was the order of the day.
