Sullivan James & Sawyer Dawn were born to a favorite couple from a few years ago who married in boho garden style and invited me in to photograph their day for them. Lisa & Brendan have since given me the honor of capturing Lisa’s maternity and not too long ago I was thrilled to get to meet their new babies at just a few days home from the hospital. Meet Sawyer and Sullivan. They were born surprisingly close to their due date, both healthy enough to spend remarkably little time at the hospital. Sullivan – or Sully as his mama and daddy already call him – is smaller than his more robust, smooth faced sister Sawyer, but both have tiny features and smiles that can melt any heart, but especially mine as I’m somewhere around 35 weeks pregnant as I write this. Their home is happy and warm in every conceivable way – from the peppy yellow walls of their room to the big furry balls of love and licks that follow them around. Fur siblings Montana and Finnegan have welcomed them home easily and are now officially in the running for “best dogs ever” since I watched them lay unbelievably still for minutes on end while I photographed Sawyer and Sully on top of them. I suppose all that’s left to say is twins aren’t easy to photograph and I can’t imagine they are easy to parent but I can say with certainty twins are easy to love.
