Sarah & Matthew | Woman’s Club of Wisconsin Wedding Photography

I think it is accurate to write that my love affair with Sarah & Matt’s love started the day I photographed their engagement session in Chicago. Sarah showed up with a little Kate Spade wristlet declaring “eat cake for breakfast” and they ended the day with french toast and bacon at a deliciously greasy ‘hawks diner in their neighborhood. It was, by everyone’s account a perfect morning. And so I was beyond thrilled to get to spend another day with the two of them (and to see what adorable accessories and sweet snacks were in store.) Their summer wedding day was about more than treats though, it was all about each other and celebrating in style, but with a side dose of serious fun. I loved all the surprising little details that personalized everything to Matt & Sarah’s tastes. Next to family photos lovingly framed throughout the reception venue were equally important photos of family pets. Bright and happy tables-capes were quietly accented with mini-mason jars filled with Packers’ and Bears’ colored M&Ms. And, oh yes, Sarah’s family tradition of sharing in a shot ski with the bridal party was turned up a notch by a surprise shot hockey stick gifted to them by her sister. Sarah & Matt laughed their way through the day and into the night, thrilled that it had all come together so perfectly and really it did. It was happy and fun and emotional and so very them.
