Dana & Chris | Milwaukee Courthouse Wedding Photographer

Dana & Chris have an irresistible charm about them that starts with their easy, beautiful, well-used smiles; They both have the kind of grins that live not just on the lips, but light up their eyes and the hearts of those around them. They are both a bit artsy and authentically alternative in a stylish, modern way and besides the great smiles, they are just so darn sweet and…real. For them planning a wedding was about planning a day to say I love you, I am with you, I will always be at your side. A day to say thank you to family for guidance and support; a day to drink champagne in the afternoon and nosh on delicious food with their favorite people, a day to make it official without a lot of unnecessary jazz. The day they imagined started at their light-filled apartment decorated with bits and baubles of who they are: botany books next to wildly happy plants on a desk scattered with sketches and love notes; fresh sushi from their favorite place for a snack and that little white dress Dana fell in love with years ago on a vintage red hangar in the living room. They dressed on opposite sides of the flat and met in their living room, each happier than the other to be getting married this day. After a short but surprisingly intimate and personal ceremony at Milwaukee’s grand courthouse they brunched at Bavette, a sort of farm-to-table gourmet butcher shop delight that served up by far the yummiest wedding food I’ve ever eaten. Throughout it all those smiles I talked about were ever in place, welcoming, thanking, loving those there with them. If this is what a courthouse wedding looks and feels like then sign me up to photograph a hundred more.
