Margaret & Kevin found me through the beautiful and talented Maggie & Piero Spada back in early 2009 and booked me via e-mail for their November 2009 wedding. I think we planned to do an engagement session right away but time slipped by and we didn’t meet in person until 2 months before their wedding. But we made up for the relatively late e session with the most perfectly lit evening at St Francis Seminary. Warm, buttery, angelic light kept streaming into my lens and I think I heard angels sing a few times.

With an e session that good I was understandably excited for the big day. It didn’t disappoint. Margaret & Kevin’s wedding reminded me of a classic Hollywood wedding…Fred & Ginger’s Hollywood, that is…

The 4 pm full mass was at the gorgeous hidden gem of St Anthony’s near 6th & Mitchell. If you can get married here, do. The late afternoon light streams in through the plentiful stained glass windows and the space has great acoustics, which Margaret & Kevin took full advantage of by including a full choir in their plans.

Kevin & Margaret’s wedding was just after day light savings. They wanted to save their first sight of each other for the aisle so with a 4 pm ceremony we had the unique opportunity to do night shots for their “just the two of us” images. I love the results.

One can’t go wrong with a reception at the Wisconsin Club, but their relaxed attitudes were particularly well balanced by impeccable taste to give their day an air of grace and easy elegance. The details were black and white with an emphasis on candlelight and texture. I could fill 5 blog posts with images from their reception, but here are just a few (mostly action) favorites that I think show the essential loveliness of the evening.

Margaret & Kevin ~ Thank you so much for inviting me into your day. Your sweet families and gorgeous love were treats for me to witness and photograph. And if any more friends of Maggie & Piero want to get married through my lens I am game – I can’t think of a sweeter, more authentically stylish and fun-filled way to spend a Saturday!
