Kate & Jath are having a baby. Due in mid-November, they are letting their little one come into the world as a surprise gender and I adore the idea of waiting. After all, I believe strongly in the old adage: good things come to those who wait. This was the last session I shot when I was still pregnant with my own little baby so I felt myself to be a kindred spirit to Kate and a friend to Jath. So on one of the last warm days of summer we played in the city, capturing intimate moments at the studio, some sunny light by a patch of urban sunflowers, and even visited the stand of trees where they were engaged.

Kate is such a tiny pregnant person, it is hard to believe that she was around 32 weeks in these photos. Now, there are just two more weeks to wait for baby to arrive. Best of luck to you in your delivery Kate and congratulations to all three of you – you’ll make a beautiful family.
