Lisa & Brendan’s wedding day dawned cheerfully bright and warm, a perfect Wisconsin summer day. The garden grasses danced in little wisps of wind and the blooms of late summer grew pillowy and full on long stalks and stems. Lisa and Brendan opened their cards to one another in the broad privacy of the garden – he on a bench beside the lawn, she in the plant yard surrounded by seedlings. They both smiled and I’m guessing mirrored thoughts passed through their minds: I can’t wait to marry this perfect person for me. Lisa’s Anthropologie-meets-country-chic style brought out the best in everything at Boerner Botanical Gardens and their easy going, easy to love personalities brought out the best in their families and friends.
I chose this post to kick off the new year because it represents just about everything I hope for 2012:
May we all have days as light, fresh, airy, loving, sweet and strong as this one.
May we be surrounded by love and those we love on everyday and into the night. May we end each day with dancing, real or imaginary, safe in the arms of that love.
Lisa & Brendan’s day was styled so perfectly and yet, so personally I’m excited to share the vendor and shop details. Etsy plays a big role in this list and I hope that my 2012 couples will explore that resource to personalize their own celebrations this year. And not to be forgotten, the puppies are called Finnegan and Montana, that latter of which was featured rather prominently in Lisa & Brendan’s lovely engagement session. I send out a huge thank you to their handlers who made it possible for the the pups to join Lisa & Brendan for a little while on their wedding day as nothing makes for a perfect wedding day like having ALL your loved ones present.
