Krystle & Sam hosted a fascinating wedding that moved from a revamped warehouse turned high end hotel to a delightful barrel-vaulted private club. Along the way they visited Milwaukee’s brilliant blue lakefront and found a few moments to take a carriage ride. Ellen photographed this colorful day where bridesmaids carried different flowers and wore different dresses and the wedding reception theme stood out beautifully. Krystle’s custom gown and Sam’s playful striped socks showed off their personal style and the flowers must have smelled heavenly. I think of wedding photography as essentially story telling so I love the way Krystle described their inspiration for their wedding venue decor (and really for the days leading up to their wedding) –
Sam and I wanted to have a unique and personal wedding that was reflective of our love for travel and of course, each other! We decided to go with a vintage Parisian theme – something we knew would be colorful, fun, playful and interesting, without being stuffy or overly formal. We collected every single item for the wedding during the year leading up to the wedding. We visited local antique markets, vintage stores and individuals…to delight guests with 100 unique vintage china plates used for place settings and centerpieces and accent tables filled with candlesticks, silver teapots, creamers, sugars and vanity trays filled with flowers and macaroons. Memorable, tasty and beautiful!
