Melissa & Dan are having a baby – a baby boy to be named Landon to be more specific. Melissa is a girl’s girl who relishes mani pedi days and has an intense relationship with her curling iron so when I heard she was having a boy my immediate thought was aw. she should have a girl. And then I remembered that Melissa is one of the most multi-faceted women I’ve had the honor of photographing. She’s a nurse with a huge heart and fiercely protective of her family and friends. People friend her for life because she’s gutsy, fun and full of confidence and happiness in equal measure. I know all of this because it is pretty easy to get to know Melissa but also because I photographed her big, beautiful wedding and she gave me the opportunity to shoot one of the coolest Trash the Dress sessions ever. Yes, ever. So on immediate second thought there is plenty of time for Melissa to have her little girl, for now she gets to be the coolest mom a little boy could dream about. And there is her partner, her love, her husband Dan who adores her and as much as she does him. I love the way these photos show a sweet intimacy between Melissa and Dan that can’t be faked for a camera – it only shows up for  the lens when it is intensely felt and intensely shared. Congrats Landon: these two are ready to be your mamma and daddy.
