I met Amy & Mat more than two years ago when baby Elle was still in her mama’s belly. I’ve been honored to photograph them several times over those two years, sharing in the joy of a newborn Elle, a 1 year old Elle and now a baby brother for Elle. Cade Mathew was born at the end of October, into a world of pumpkins and cozy fires, and sharing a birthday season with his daddy. Elle is adjusting remarkably well and loves both to hold Cade and to kiss his tiny nose, so much so that she has her own little chair in Cade’s nautical-inspired room just next door to her own chic french-inspired room. She is a bundle of energy and he was awake for nearly our entire session so I think he might have a similar temperament as she, which by all accounts will be just fine. Photos of Elle are everywhere in Cade’s house and I think so many of these will complement hers perfectly – I imagine them growing up together as brother and sister, but also as best friends, happy, healthy and totally wealthy in all the ways that count.
