Erin & Kirk tied the knot on a snowy Wisconsin winter day that demanded warm beverages and soft pashminas for the shoulders. A few lingering Christmas lights lent their magical twinkling to the city streets and at every turn Erin’s smile lit up rooms while Kirk’s grin was aimed squarely at her. Their day was all about mixing elegance with coziness, a little glamour with hints of relaxed homeyness. They scripted their day that way, purposefully moving in and out of posh surroundings and low brow fun to create a day that was totally them, from high end hotel to the oldest parish church in the city, to a bus for a mini pub crawl with popcorn and bloodies and rounded out by the gilded loveliness of the Wisconsin Woman’s Club. Throughout the day I felt a sense of happiness and sweetness tinged with relief – the weather had held out, everyone had made it, all was going perfectly. And perfectly it continued – all night long and into their real life together as husband and wife.
