Sam & J | Wisconsin Winter Wedding & Engagement Photography

Sam & J are lucky to have found one another. They work in the same field and met what feels like a lifetime ago at a conference. They acknowledged each other as colleagues and soon became friends. States apart it took awhile for them to become anything more than that, but today you’ll find them happily turning their lives – individually and collectively – upside down at every turn to start new practices, to plan a wedding, really just to be together. For our engagement shoot Sam and J put everything on hold to spend the weekend in Wisconsin; Sam had just returned from an adventure we can all be jealous of – an african safari – and J was in the midst of setting up his new office and practice. But they took this afternoon to sip Vanilla Steamers (he takes his extra sweet) and explore a city they don’t know very well with my camera and me. Despite the cold and the wind and the unfamiliar territory they wandered through our afternoon with what I might describe as gusto. Sam easily dissolves into laughter and J can’t resist her smile – even when its precipitated by 40 mile an hour wind gusts. The results were lovely and since these two were convinced I wouldn’t be able to get one measly good picture of them I’m thrilled to share not just one good one but several great ones where its obvious these two are Meant To Be.
