Jackie & Ben | Milwaukee and Door County Wedding Photographer

Jackie & Ben are high school sweethearts – emphasis on the sweet – who came to me through the recommendation of Ben’s mom, a talented photographer in her own right. There isn’t a better compliment I can think of than for another photographer to ask me to photograph her family, much less her son’s wedding! Counting my blessings I met Jackie & Ben on a misty March day for our engagement session and I added an extra blessing or two to the list: Jackie and Ben are seriously genuine and in love and easy to be around, plus they brought along their giant puppy Moose. Nevermind that I kept calling him “Horse”; he was a playful addition to our walk around the city. We started in my studio where the light was warm to match Jackie & Ben’s smiles and we ended with glasses of vino during an aptly named Happy Hour at the Public Market. My lens will focus on these two again this summer under decidedly different conditions as they tie the knot in Door County. Instead of sparkly wet pavement and cozy jackets they’ll be in suit and dress just steps from the lapping waves of Lake Michigan and the place they call home year round. I hope Moose makes an appearance then, too, but no matter what I’m more than certain it will be a swoon-worthy day.
