Katie & Tom are a long way from middle school science class, but that’s where they met ages ago when life was mostly about playing with dogs, eating ice cream, strolling on the beach and having fun. So what could be more perfect than doing all of those things during their engagement session? Well, how about doing it all in Door County where they have a family cabin and where they were engaged. Yep, perfect.
On a classic windy Door County Day Emily met the two of them and Duncan the dog (who had recently had a serious hair salon session to brush out smooth his amazing fluff) at Pine Cottage, where they were engaged last winter. They strolled barefoot on the beach and played catch with Duncan, miles away from their home in Illinois, just two kids at home by the water. I love the way Emily captured Katie’s irresistible smile and Tom’s obvious love for it, as well as their mutual affection for mint chip ice cream. In a few months Katie & Tom will celebrate the official start of their lives together in a decidedly different venue – Milwaukee’s Villa Terrace – so I think a little down home cabin session was the perfect way to capture them as they are now in the simple place where they love to be.
