Lisia & Louis are the kind of people who make friends for life and once they’ve invited you in you’ll want to travel to the ends of the earth if it would make them happy. And in some ways that’s what a rather large number of very important people in their lives did for them this May. Lisia and Louis are in Boston with their families dotting the east coast from Massachusetts to North Carolina but on their wedding weekend more than 30 loving and loved people made it to the serene, gorgeous and a little bit hidden out-island of Exuma in the Bahamas to celebrate the start of their life as husband and wife. Such a large party for a destination wedding is a bit rare but then again, so are Lisia & Louis. I met them for the first time that weekend and over the course of 4 days I came to understand why in the world so many people would travel for them. They are generous and open with their hearts, goofy and real in their humor, scarred but hopeful in their history, fun-loving and adventurous in their world view. They are, very simply, on my short list of people I would hang out with anytime, anywhere for no reason at all.
The day before their wedding we took a break from lounging by the gorgeous resort pool and adventured out on the island to the spot where the Tropic of Cancer crosses its sands. It was a secluded, sun drenched spot that promised perfect sand and impossibly turquoise waters. It didn’t disappoint.
Stay tuned for the wedding day and all its beautiful island awesomeness.
