Sarah & Eric are the kind of people who are totally comfortable in their skins, know their history and revel in tradition. For their wedding they knew from the beginning that steeping their day in family and tradition was exactly how they wanted to do it. So Sarah dressed at her parent’s home and met Eric in the foyer, sweeping down a lovely staircase to meet her soon-to-be husband while his sister played the piano, a sweet surprise from him to her. From that moment on they barely left one another’s side and experienced the whole day together – just as they plan to spend the rest of their lives. Eric proposed to Sarah on the dock just outside the house so if was especially meaningful to them to spend a few moments there – basking in the warm sun with the sounds of the lake so near. At the club where Sarah and her family have played many a round of golf they celebrated with family and friends – and just a bit of sports-centric ribbing. When we arrived at the cocktail hour I was floored to witness an array of family wedding dresses and mementos dating back into the early 1900s, evidence of strong marriages on both sides to to carry Eric & Sarah through theirs. I don’t think these two need much luck to join their parents and grandparents in growing together in a happy marriage, because after all, it seems to me that being in love is their family tradition.
