I met Becky & Matt for the first time – ever – at their engagement session. Becky made it sound like she isn’t normally so decisive but in all things wedding planning she and Matt have known what they wanted from the beginning and happily, I fit into the plans nicely. Her parents suggested a Florida destination wedding close to their winter pad and ideas about a Chicago wedding where Matt & Becky live were bounced around for about a minute. Becky knew and Matt agreed it was right – Lake Geneva would be the place to say I Do. Becky grew up going there in the summers and still spends a huge chunk of time there as an adult. The water, the sun, the relaxed northwoods feel with a bit of upscale nautical thrown in – it’s simply perfect. Next year in June they’ll treat guests to a cocktail hour boat ride across the lake and toast their love at The Riviera, but on this day the lake was showing another side of itself. Shrouded in mist, the oh-so-quiet the water gave glimpses of rocks below and bounced light off white docks and white rocks. Their pup still wasn’t a fan of being so close to the water but we convinced him to go out with us anyway. In the end it was deliciously different and I love the results.
