As I mentioned in their apple orchard engagement session blog post, Katie & Alex are a young couple who’ve already spent what seems like a lifetime together. During their wedding toasts their parents talked about them meeting in their early teens at camp and how from that moment on they never wavered, never looked back; they’ve been Katie & Alex since then and now they are Mr. & Mrs. And what a gift it is to have already been together for so long, to have grown up together in many ways, and to get to spend so many more years hand in hand. So that’s how they started their wedding day – hand in hand. Separated by little more than a set of gorgeously carved wooden stairs at the Wisconsin Club they dressed and cried and laughed with their favorite people and parents and then first he and then she walked out to the baroque gazebo perched on the Club’s lawn. There they cried and laughed again, this time with and for one another. From there they traveled about town surrounded by fun and frivolity but also by love. I adored how they managed to seriously enjoy their wedding day in many ways by just being themselves. They popped champagne, played ping pong games and tasted Hawaiian Shave Ice. Alex danced for gathered guests in his very signature style and they munched on popcorn and candy, let balloons fly and did I mention dance? It was, in every way possible, an incredibly fun day. An incredibly sweet day. A very Katie & Alex Day.
