As a general wedding day rule the bride and the groom are always happy. Their families are happy. Their guests are happy. But in May as the new green buds were starting to unfurl and daffodils were just blooming, Emily & Sara had the incredible honor of photographing THE happiest group of people to assemble at a wedding, perhaps ever. On Jessica & Ross’s long awaited wedding day big beaming smiles filled their wedding tent and The Watermark, filled the spaces between hugs and tears and of course filled the face of every one in attendance. I often write about images being part of one’s ability to relive a day, but I’m not sure that sound has ever been the overwhelming sense that I tapped into when looking at a set of wedding photos. But here in these photos one can almost hear the laughter, if not the wonderful, infectiously good music at their rockin’ dance party of a reception, hear the clapping and the shouts of Mazel Tov as they left the tent, maybe even hear the awwws in response to endearing, adoring toasts in their honor. I guess it’s easiest and truest to write that Jessica & Ross’ wedding day was…simply joyful.
