Dana & Chris’s wedding day promises to be among my favorites this year. I’ve come to think of it as an Essential Wedding, a wedding that is all and only about getting married, completing the ritual of tying two lives together and celebrating the act with their immediate loved ones. They’ll say I Do at the courthouse on labor day weekend and then spend the afternoon with moms and dads and siblings – steeping in the love and joy of family made bigger. I adore this plan, this almost radical idea to do it small, intimate, true – it’s an idea that just makes sense to them and after spending an afternoon with them wandering urban fields and forests for their engagement session it just makes sense to me too.
