About a year ago I met James & Katie for their engagement session and we wandered about the city in search of colorful leaves, tasty bites and easy laughter. We found all three. And on their wedding day it was much the same: but this time the color came in the form of soft blush accents on Katie’s dress, lovely Milwaukee-inspired invites, and even from a number of Monarch butterflies they released along with the help of their favorite flower girls and ring bearer. The tasty bites were served by the Wisconsin Club and the laughter came from friends, family, mentors, all those gathered to toast the happy couple. All wedding days are emotional, but the sweet, happy tears that Katie shed as she read James’ card touched me and I knew that this day was about more than beautiful details and flowers, about more than handsome tuxedos and tradition; it was about James and Katie becoming who they wanted to be – partner, soul mate, cheerleader, best friend, each other’s Everything for Life.
