Nadia Grace doesn’t yet know how lucky she is – lucky to have two kind, successful, sweet people be her mom and dad, lucky to have a ready-to-play best (fur) friend already at her side, lucky to have a happy home ready to be filled with her chatter and laughter. She is tiny with a head full of hair and with delicate features that make me think she looks like mom, but when she needs a good swaddling dad is on the job, wrapping her up not just in a blanket, but in his comfort and calm, too. All around her is evidence of the family that has been waiting for her and from which she comes – her name is Russian after mom’s side of the family and her doll a replica of one that her mom had as a child (and still has today.) Her photos will soon join framed favorites from mom and dad’s wedding and generations of family weddings before her time so it’s easy to imagine that she will grow up steeped in family history and more than anything else, love. What a lucky little lady.
