Baby Caroline was a Thanksgiving week baby born into a home brimming with Christmas cheer. I think that bodes well for a lifetime of sweet festivities and holiday fun, but judging by the caring arms of her dad and the protective cuddles of her mom, I think her life is destined to be filled by so much more. Her big eyes are starting to focus just a bit and she’s happiest being swaddled, but I’m pretty certain that once her fur sibling Penny warms up to her presence her favorite place will be wherever Penny is. On this day though, everyone was still getting to know one another and our time together was calm and quiet, a sweet pause in the craziness of holiday shopping and all the hurry hurry of the season. Her mom’s family has strong Scottish ties (her dad wore a kilt at their wedding) and I loved pulling from here and there around the house to incorporate tartan plaids and touches of family history like the exquisite wooden cradle she sleeps in that belonged to her dad first. At the end of our session all I could think was: Caroline is a lucky little girl to be surrounded by people who are so ready for her in their lives that its almost as if she was always there.
