Erin & Andy were engaged in a Chicago park, on the shores of Lake Michigan just moments before the city’s Wednesday night fireworks lit the summer sky. I love the symbolism in that – fireworks literally going off moments after Erin said yes to Andy – and that’s kind of how their story is; every detail I hear just makes me like them more. They met at a Halloween party where Andy was dressed like a Top Gun character (swoon) and they just recently moved to accommodate the addition of a rescue pup to their lives. They love the northwoods and spa days, playing golf and exploring new places. They are, in short, my kind of people. And for their engagement session, along with their newest family member they showed Emily around their little part of Chicago, Lincoln Park, and enjoyed an impossibly perfect blue sky sort of day that reminds us all why we love summer in the midwest. They started at their place and wound along until they finished close to the spot where he asked for her to be his forever. It was simple, romantic, authentic, and fun, just like them.
