Colin & Julie are the kind of people whose stories pull me in, make me want to know more about them and make me happy to know that such people exist in the world. At first they seem quiet, maybe introverted, but in the company of their dog Norbie (named for her beloved alma mater St. Norbert College) and with Lake Michigan as their backdrop they became my instant friends. Their story is made up in part by their simple and sometimes quirky passions – interests that span from west coast swing dancing and lazy days at Leff’s Luckytown to planning date nights and long walks with Norbie in Tosa. But it is their shared history of incredibly strong families that perhaps is most important to their story. Her parents have been married for more than 35 years and so have his, both models of love and friendship and support. Which is what Colin wants to have with Julie and Julie with Colin: a lifelong love with a best friend.
