Before setting off on a picnic adventure with Jessica & Paul one July evening I knew they were adorable, but somewhere between the South African lemon biscuits and the second glass of champagne I decided they were seriously too much. Too happy, too full of laughter, too fun, too nice, too real – too much to not simply fall in love with. The biscuits (along with the beautiful patterned picnic blanket) were sent back to Wisconsin by Paul’s parents who are back in S.A. where he was born and the champagne was just something Jessica picked up. The flowers were from their garden and the crystal stemware lent the perfect weight to the bubbly. The sun shone off the river nearby and really, all was right in the world. Which is pretty much how I think life is for them. Nothing is perfect and nothing is easy, but life looks really beautiful when you picnic through it. So we laughed and toasted and munched, read funny books about marriage and decided that yes dear, life is best served with snacks and champagne!
