Sarah & Taylor are one of those meant to be couples. They were born in different parts of the country and even now live apart, delicately balancing their love and friendship with grad school and jobs in different states. But hang out with them for just a few hours, like I did one afternoon this fall, and it is obvious that they are together, in that way that only two people who’ve profoundly impacted one another’s lives can be together. It’s the kind of together that allows one’s partner the freedom to pursue dreams and do necessary work, to achieve goals and build skills, to go and be what one needs to be even if that means being long-distance loves for now. Because they know someday soon it will always be the two of them, some day.
