Whitney and Erik are having a whirlwind kind of year (or two) characterized by long-distance love and long distance wedding planning. They started off in North Carolina where Erik is in graduate school but now Whitney is in New York, also in graduate school. They are getting married in lake country just west of Milwaukee and somehow, somehow they’ve kept each other in high spirits and good form through it all. Sara photographed them this winter on a short trip back to Milwaukee to see family and wedding plan and she learned a thing or two about them. They are best friends who love to savor a good cup of coffee or glass of wine, to explore city streets hand in hand and most of all, to simply pal around together. Living states apart has made that hard, but as they say, they have their eyes on the prize and in this case the prize is each other.
