Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. ~ Emily Bronte
I love her. And that’s the beginning and the end of everything. ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald
Oh to love and be loved with that kind of passion. I think that may be all that matters in this world. And so today I offer up our best images from 2016 – the ones that I think show passion and deep joy, endless love and soulful embraces; the ones that make my associates and me want to spend our weekends with other people’s families. We adore photographing styled paper, flowers, shoes, food and all the little details that make an engagement session or wedding day personal, but here you will find mostly portraits; Portraits of people who love deeply and profoundly. My kind of people. Ultimately, it has been a little gift to myself to dive back into the 35,000 + images (wait, what? yes, you read that correctly) that we created this past year and to curate my favorites here. There’s no contest or winner or anything to vote for, but rather I just hope that these images speak to you of love and light as they speak to me. All of these were chosen because they make me feel something and because we had something to do with creating them – picking the spot, the angle, the view, suggesting a path or place, getting out of the way at the right time and blending in, paying attention to all of the right moments, people and emotions. These exist because we made them.
