Kirsten & Ben’s wedding day was the kind of day parents dream about for their children; it was emotional and authentic, beautiful and well-planned, hopeful and bright. It was filled with genuinely happy people who wanted nothing more than to bless, congratulate and adore the bride and groom, while also acknowledging that families are made, marriages require work, and choosing your partner is the biggest choice in life. I think Kirsten and Ben have chosen well, are ready to do the work and their new little family is one of which to be proud. They live in Texas and for them it was a destination wedding of sorts, part of a weekend hosting Ben’s southern family back in the midwest where Kirsten grew up. Milwaukee showed off for them, the sky a brilliant blue and the lake breeze chilly, but held at bay by a warm spring sun. The Art Museum never looked better and the band made sure it never sounded better either. In the middle of it all Kirsten and Ben drank it in, the two luckiest people in the world and best of all, they knew it. Full of gratefulness, buoyed by love, friendship and well-wishes, Kirsten and Ben said yes to each other and yes to the future.
