Megan & Clay were married on a spring day filled with white and pink tree blooms, sunshine and enough laughter to make the heart sing. Clay and his bridal party were goofy and fun, but also total gentleman whether in search of a pre-ceremony Culver’s concrete mixer or a post-wedding cocktail. Megan was surrounded most of the day by women she calls family and she simply exuded happiness. I think of myself as pretty good at reading people quickly – getting to know them is pretty much my job, but I felt like Megan and Clay are a slow burn kind of couple – each meeting brings with it new delights, new details about who they are and what they value. They are exceptional athletes and love a good mountain to climb, think that triathlons and long bike rides are the stuff of great Saturdays. Their honeymoon likely involved a kayak and a parka – but their humble, tell-me-about-you-let’s-not-talk-about-me attitudes keeps a lot of their accomplishment private. I adored becoming a small part of their wedding experience, in capturing all of the love their family has for them, all the pride they have in them because pride isn’t really a part of their modest vocabulary. Cheers to love my new friends ~
