I met Elizabeth & Nathan when they were fresh from medical school, two crazy kids excited to start their life together – a life that was sure to include demanding jobs and wonderful opportunities, plus lots of babies and broken bones (whether theirs or not since Elizabeth was just starting her career as an Obstetrician and Nathan was headed into Radiology.) I photographed their wedding at St. Jude’s and their reception at The Milwaukee Art Museum in April, on Elizabeth’s grandparent’s wedding anniversary if I am remembering it correctly, and it was, very simply, a lovely day. It was stylish and sweet, well-planned and thoroughly enjoyable, but for some reason it went beyond that for me and I’ve always carried an extra squishy spot in my heart for these two. When their daughter Eloise was born I practically told them I had to be their newborn photographer and I was. And apparently, Eloise took up residence in that squishy spot, too. Fast forward to this summer and this light, this perfect day by the lake and this adorable 4 year old with the most stunningly beautiful eyes and you’ll find me gushing over this amazing little family. Elizabeth is almost ready to deliver baby #2 in just a few weeks and despite a very badly broken leg, Nate is right there with her, happy to trot out to the lakefront and play with Eloise for my camera. I told you there would be lots of babies and broken bones, didn’t I? I love these and know they will too, cheers to love my friends ~see you in a few weeks for the new babe!
