Some people meet in the familiar places we expect – at work or in sports, in school, maybe as teenagers or out with mutual friends, on the web, or at church or on a college trip. But others of us have crazy wonderful stories that sound rather a lot like the text of a romantic comedy, or at least, a really good beach read. Laura & Frandy belong to the second set of people and oh, how we love their story. Frandy is from the Caribbean and was working as a sailing instructor when Laura, on vacation, caught his attention. There’s a bit about dancing meringue, wading through french, creole and english to talk and, meeting friends and family and ultimately a lot about staying connected over all the water and the states in between them. Thanks to skype and Frandy’s awesomely talented mind for all things boats, Laura’s life in Milwaukee now includes Frandy, who’s moved exceptionally closer and commutes from Chicago to walk with her along a decidedly different body of water on the weekends. With Lake Michigan as their now constant companion, these two love to meander along its edges, to relax hand-in-hand, to simply Be Together. We love their story, but we love them together most of all – laughing, goofing about, just being Laura & Frandy – just being happy.
