Katie & Eddie met in college and have grown together in their careers and sports, friendships and travels. His family is out east and she’s a Wisconsin girl, but together they share a life in New York. And that life is rich with weekends away with family and friends, lots of golf (for him) and lots of miles logged running (for her) and lots of dreaming about the future. What I love about photographing couples like Katie and Eddie is discovering that dreamer side that plays along with the practical, discovering the playful alongside the undeniably beautiful, discovering the unabashedly happy alongside the planned and perfect. Katie and Eddie have and are all of those things and together they are simply joyful. So on a sunny July morning when her family was gathered to celebrate 4th of July at her parent’s home in Wisconsin’s lake country I walked into the lake for them. As the water reach my thighs and Katie called out for me to watch for zebra muscles I just thought – no worries, Katie, love is worth getting a little soggy for. In fact, Love is everything.
