Cynthia & Brent are the kind of people one meets and immediately thinks ok, wow, there are some really great people in the world and I’m looking at two of them. Their story starts on different continents – he’s from Australia and she’s American – and includes a lot of baseball games, time hanging out with one another’s friends, time apart, time on vacation together here and there, and twists and turns worthy of a novella. But I’m pretty sure that from the moment they saw each other as significant their story has been about this irrevocable truth: Cynthia is madly in love with Brent and Brent’s whole heart belongs to Cynthia. I know this because they wrote their own vows which somehow managed to mention lice and still make me cry. I know this because Brent spent the better part of his wedding day just smiling at Cynthia. I know this because Cynthia is sparkly and sweet and so very kind and when she’s around Brent she’s all those things turned up to 11. I know this because anyone who is lucky enough to get to hang out with them knows this, too. There were so many things I loved about their day; indulge me as I share a very partial list. I loved how Cynthia recreated a childhood dance recital routine with her proud dad and how her sister made dozens of hand-made macarons for their favors. I loved how perfectly handmade ribbon wands helped express the joy of the ceremony and how devoted to dance party fun all the guests were. I loved that a friend officiated the ceremony and the moms offered the readings, both beaming with happiness. I loved how supportive the bridal party members were and how the setting sunlight practically kissed Cynthia & Brent as they practiced their dance moves on the Riverwalk. And so it was a pleasure and an honor to photograph the two of them as they celebrated their wedding with family and friends from all over the world, and every glittery, happy, irresistibly lovely detail of the day.
