The last time I saw Lisia and Louis we were standing in the sand on the beaches of the Bahamas. They had married under the Caribbean sun and dined with family and friends under the ocean stars, capping the night with fireworks and more laughter than would seem humanly possible. And now some 4 years later I was honored and oh-so-happy to see them again – this time with their two adorable children in tow. Close to their home and even closer to the water, we wandered through an East Boston park with epic views of the city and a multitude of sailboats, but for me it was the smiles of Leo and Leila that felt like the best part of the evening. Leila is outgoing and delightful, a child with a mind of her own – which is exactly what her mom and dad want for her. Leo is all gummy smiles and sweet slobber, with eyes that follow every move his family members make. Clearly he is itching to join the party. I adore how Lisia and Louis still seem like newlyweds to me, all care and concern, kindness and love for each other, but with an even greater measure of one another’s strengths and possibilities. I’m so happy to have documented another chapter in their lives together so I’ll just say this: cheers to being a mother and cheers to being a father and most of all cheers to being a family madly in love.
