Katie & Calvin touched my heart during our April Engagement session, but it was their Wisconsin City Club wedding day that truly stole my heart. As a pair of humans they are indefatigably nice, always looking to make others feel comfortable, welcome, safe – and to be honest I am not sure there is anything nicer I could say about another human. They value friendship and family, are authentic and open, even if that means wearing their hearts on their sleeves. Calvin’s brothers toasted (and roasted) him during their speeches at dinner and while they elicited laughs what they really revealed was their admiration for their brother, an admiration that is shared by many who are lucky enough to have Calvin in their life. And Katie is the emotional center of many of her relationships, the kind of person who makes friends and keeps them, no matter the years or miles that may separate the initial encounter. And so, on THE perfect July day in Milwaukee, Katie and Calvin came home together to celebrate the sacrament of marriage with their parents who have known one another for over 2 decades, to celebrate at the Wisconsin Club where she has a history of Sunday night dinners, to celebrate the only way they know how: with joy and love and open hearts. This wedding will bring a smile to your face so grab a cup of coffee and let’s tuck in together. It’s a good one.
