romantic snowy wedding in Milwaukee with BHLDN dress Kimmie & Patrick hosted the most surprising, delightful, elegant, insanely wonderful beachy-vibes-on-a-snowy-day wedding I could have imagined this past January. I know I just wrote a bunch superlatives and lest you think I am simply prone to hyperbole, let me explain. Kimmie & Patrick are music fans in general and Phish-fans in particular, and on any ordinary day their idea of perfection likely involves a margarita, being barefoot and simply hanging out somewhere warm with friends. So the goal for their wedding day was to re-interpret that version of perfect and bring together their favorite people to experience their world, albeit on a rather grand and truly generous scale. We adored their simple and understated, but somehow super glamorous style choices – hello wedding dress with sleeves, lace and crystal encrusted booties, and skinny velvet tie – and how they paired bright fuschia and matte black with huge green leaves and protea to achieve a decidedly tropical feel. Personalized details that hinted at Kimmie & Patrick’s love for life and each other were everywhere – from the sprinkle cake with (love-bird) parrot toppers and hand dyed silk elements that were just a wee bit tie-dye-ish, to the table “numbers” that were named for all the venues they have seen Phish perform and even in the late night blended margaritas that gave a nod to their first date beverage of choice. And can I just give a huge round of applause to them for having a mobile dripping with orchids over their long king’s table at the reception? It was inspired and gorgeous and moved. It moved! It was all so fun and beautiful and very simply, full of love & light. Which, it so happens is their motto in life and the words in neon that overlooked their reception bar. And now I think I too, may have a new mantra. To all who read this far ~ Love & Light.
