Sometimes I Love You can be said best quietly and I think on a normal day Andrew’s way of saying I Love You to Katie is probably like that. I am guessing that he loves to hold her hand, to take her for walks, to simply mouth the words I Love You. But on a recent Tuesday in April, Andrew decided to veer from the subtle and instead go for the grand gesture. And oh love was it grand. I was only there for the big question and the celebration, but I know that Andrew gifted Katie a day filled with little indulgences, sweet memories, careful planning, and ultimately, an evening with some of their closest friends & family. And oh yeah, Fireworks. It was a gorgeous evening to walk on the Marina jetty, to watch the sunset over the city and for Andrew to ask Katie to marry him. She, of course, said Yes. And then they walked hand in hand to face the city and revel in the booming sounds of fireworks. Cars stopped on Lincoln Memorial Drive to watch and neighbors called the news to ask why the fireworks were happening on a Tuesday night; Everyone within viewing distance was delighted. So cheers to lakeside walks and fireworks, the simple and the grand. Cheers to Katie & Andrew. Cheers to Love ~
