Kelsey & John | St John’s Northwestern & SURG Third Ward Wedding

Kelsey & John met through Habitat for Humanity, which says a lot about two people who meet in college. I am sure they have many tales to tell that involve shenanigans, bars, and general college craziness, but their Marquette love story pretty much starts with a service trip. And a love that starts with a shared value for helping others is the kind of love we could all use a bit more of in our lives. Don’t you agree? Everyone at Kelsey & John’s May wedding in Wisconsin certainly agreed; the crowd of family and friends on hand for the day was universally in awe of their generosity, their joy, their care for one another and their attention to the happiness and comfort of others. The ceremony at St John’s Northwestern Noble Victory Chapel began with them simultaneously but separately reading letters to one another (and both crying.) Great friends sang them through the ritual of marriage and they were blessed by all present. Once outside the big red doors of the chapel they were rarely not hand in hand, and their bridal party showed how much they adore them with their smiles and crazy animal socks on parade (I see you one guy with the cat socks. You made my day.) After watching the sun coast low over the Third Ward and the river that flows by SURG they danced into the reception. It was Derby Day down in Kentucky, a fact that for the most part had nothing to do with anything, but I suspect sharing your wedding date with a famous horse race lends an air of luck and joy to everyone’s memories. And such good memories were made, my friends. Let’s assume much luck came with it and these two will have many more Derby Days together for the next forever.
