Newborn Cecelia is the lucky sister of Josie and came home this June to a cozy, love and music filled house I have been lucky enough to visit a few times. The last time I saw Josie she was a chubby cheeked darling of 12 months or so, happy to cuddle and itching to walk. Today she’s got curls to go with her cheeks and while she isn’t so sure about touching baby Cece, she’s pretty jazzed about having a sister. I imagine she’s excited to show her how planes fly and magnatiles stick together, but really it will be having a sister that will be the best part, even when the toy planes turn to learning to drive cars and the magnatiles are switched for school projects. For me one of the best parts about a newborn session is witnessing and documenting how people I knew as newlyweds are starting to grow into their house, into their roles as parents, and ultimately into this crazy life that their children have blessed them with. Jenn & Billy are certainly blessed. And best of all, they know it. They love to read books and simply cuddle with Josie, to go to the park and play on the swings, to teach her new things and watch her grow. And now with Cece in the mix they get to do it all again, this time knowing that perhaps its ok to slow down even more. And that is my wish for Jenn & Billy: to see in Cece a chance to just be… chill, to be snuggly, to be present, to be home, to be together.
