Tarah & Andy don’t have the deepest connection to Milwaukee, but what they lack in knowledge of the city the make up for in love for The Great Lakes and for family. They both grew up with the Great Lakes as the background and playground to their childhood adventures, so when far from home a nice big lake always seems to make it feel like home. These days their lives are in Pennsylvania where they both teach at a college, but they decided to tie the knot in a place where their families could easily join them. Enter Milwaukee, a Great City on a Great Lake – isn’t that the tag line? –  and its grand County Courthouse, austere but somehow welcoming, a place where portraits in front of American flags feel not only appropriate, but maybe even a little romantic for these two political scientists. Surrounded by their parents and brothers Tarah & Andy made the most of their wedding day and the city that hosted it, from getting ready at a local favorite B&B to champagne toasts at the city’s only restaurant on the lake. And in the middle of it all they became wife & husband, loving titles to add to their already established ones of partners, scholars and best friends.
