Alefiyah & Nathan are the kind of people that make me believe in the concept and existence of Old Souls. It doesn’t take too much time around them to understand that they are all of the “hearted” descriptors: warm-hearted, big-hearted, kind-hearted. And while I know that they are blushing sternum to hairline as they read this I have to write one more totally awesome, totally true thing about them because it pretty much defines them AND the atmosphere of their fusion wedding ceremony at Southshore Pavilion and celebration at Turner Hall.
Being around Alefiyah & Nathan feels like standing in the sun, or being wrapped in a hug, or maybe dancing with a friend.
And it was our total pleasure and honor to be a part of their wedding weekend where they did all of those things, many times. Their wedding was by turns traditional and modern, all about family and all about them, old school and new school. Fire fighter Nathan’s Baraat was loud and fun and marked by his arrival on a Milwaukee Fire Department Engine while Alefiyah dressed at home with her close friends and mother. Their two part wedding ceremony started as a Muslim Nikah Ceremony and ended as a tying of the knot officiated by Alefiyah’s brother. And then, before dancing and toasting the night away at the always cool and surprising Turner Hall, Alefiyah and Nathan spent a few quiet moments at the beach, boldly stepping into the water together. Their day and night was lovely and loving, a total tribute to their long history together and the long future that waits for them. It was like standing in the sun while being wrapped in a hug and then dancing with a friend. It was perfect.
