Sisters. To me nothing sounds better than a lifetime playmate, a close-in-age confidant, a person you can count on to make bad decisions with you as a kid and then aid you in making the better decisions as you grow up together. But I’m getting ahead of the story here as Isla Ruth is just a few weeks old and big sister Emerson’s age still can be counted in weeks, as well. Together their presence has filled their house with lots of toys and books and soft cuddly things, but mostly it’s filled their house with love. Though their relationship is yet so very new, it is obvious that Emerson is on board for being one of the special humans who gets to show Isla the world over the next few years. So on a bright winter day not too long ago Emerson introduced me to Isla and showed off her climbing skills while mom & dad looked on adoringly. Isla mostly demanded cuddles and let Emerson share in the snuggles, which is to say: Isla is already a pro little sister and an undeniably perfect addition to her sweet family.
