Kirsten & Nick were married at St Hedwig in the middle of the pandemic in 2020. We were there and captured every sweet, magical moment that was smaller than planned but more joyful than they could have imagined. We blogged that wedding too, and at the time I write that the most important part of a wedding still happened that day, even with fewer guests and no cake to cut: Kirsten & Nick became a family. And now a year later (and vaccinated) I get to wrote more about them because the time to celebrate and gather beyond their Covid bubble (finally) arrived in 2021. Kirsten & Nick gathered their trusty friends and family and donned their wedding wear and treated their expanded guest list to a vow renewal, and they finally got that cake. And the toasts, and the party and the dancing shoes and to watch the sunset together at their Filament wedding reception. I know every good story has a beginning, middle and end so I decided to make this blog the full story – from getting ready to go to the church all the way to first dances, no matter the one year pause in between. So maybe the lesson here is that every good story also needs patience and time to be written.
