Marjorie Ruth is a petite little babe with a full complement of all the things that make babies so cuddle-able. Her soft skin and softer hair, wide blue eyes and preference for snuggles are perhaps common among newborns like her, but she gets the extra bonus of being born into a home full of love & music, light & art, a kitty sibling, and most of all two parents that are wholly on Team Jorie. I photographed her parent’s wedding back when they lived in Bay View and spent days by the lake and I loved seeing how they have grown into house-rehab experts and cat adoptees over these last many pandemic months. But mostly I loved seeing how they have so deftly combined their lives and loves to make a home that has Miles Davis on the turntable and wood working projects on tap, space for a nursery that is both camp-y and about camping. But best of all they have created a place where they can fill every nook and cranny with family and answer those questions of Where & When with the best answer ever: Now.
