Abby & Reily are hard for me to sum up in a pithy little post to lead into their wedding photographs. It’s not that have little to write; it’s that I am searching for the poetry to do them justice. I’ve only spent maybe 11 hours with them in this world and yet, I feel like I could sit down for a deep convo with Abby (or go out on the town for an intense girls night) or get Reily to teach me to throw pottery and nothing about these suddenly intimate interactions would feel weird. Because:
To know Abby is to feel chosen. To know Reily is to feel seen.
To know the two of them together is to know friendship and love and a wild sort of energy that is only barely contained and that promises to do really, really, amazing things in this world.
Like so many other couples planning a wedding in 2020 and 2021 their initial plans weren’t possible when their date arrived, but with the help of their wonderful families and whole lot of therapeutic pottery throwing, they made it happen and best of all, they made it like them: Intensely personal, boldly beautiful, and totally freakin’ fun. There is so much to love in this post but I’ll point you in the direction of a few of my favorites. Don’t miss the grandpa ring bearer and the flowermen, the incredible bevy of ceramics hand-made by the bride & groom, the emotional toasts and that very last moment when they pulled themselves away to breathe in all the love and loveliness they made happen on this most perfect of days.
