On a stunningly beautiful late summer morning I met Katie & John at the beach in John’s hometown of Lake Forest. The town itself is lovely, charming and elegant – a lot like Katie & John – but we started with sand between our toes before visiting the local market in a captivating little alley “downtown.” Katie & John commute together to Chicago so I could totally understand how a picnic on the beach with grandma’s hand painted glasses and cheery sunflowers would be the perfect way to spend a weekend. They love shopping and lunching downtown where they catch the train so we had to get a bit of city in too. I adore the way they lean into one another in so many of these photos whether at the beach or in heels at the market – how their bubbly personalities are suggested by the champagne itself; I can’t wait to photograph them back in this amazing little town next June where we’ll explore more of the stunning architecture of Lake Forest.
