There’s something instantly likeable about a couple that wants to feature their dog in their engagement session and Kelley & Nick never hesitated on that point. Brawny (who looks rather a lot like a giant puppy) was more than happy to accompany them on a long walk through the woods of Hoyt Park, always content as long as he had them within sights and I was happy to get to be a part of their afternoon plans. Both Kelley & Nick are people people and their easy laughter and big smiles made me feel like an old friend, a fact that makes me even more excited than ever to photograph their lake country wedding this fall. Brawny won’t be there so we made the most of his presence on this day and I love the results – soft and airy, a little romantic and somehow private but open and engaging. That describes this session but also Kelley & Nick’s relationship if you ask me.
